Notes on Contributors for Canopic Jar N°14


Antonia Bloom loved to write as a child. She has been writing fiction, seriously, for around two years and has had recent success in writing competitions; first place in the aged 16 and over category in ‘Spread The Word’ (Judge A Book By Its Cover) with her entry ‘The Outsider’.  And, runner-up in the UK Authors writing competition with her entry ‘Understanding Alfie’. Recently, she has had stories published in e-zines and will soon see a story published in a print magazine. Antonia lives in Lancashire with her family and is currently writing a novel.

Rosemarie Crisafi lives in Wappingers Falls, New York. She works in for a non-for-profit agency that serves individuals with disabilities. Her poetry has been published in Poetic Diversity, Eclectica Magazine, The Surface, Facets, Poetry Super Highway, Wicked Alice Poetry Journal, SubtleTea, Great Works, Red River Review, Millers Pond, Canopic Jar, 2River View, Nthposition, Rock Salt Plum Poetry Review, Tin Lustre Mobil, Poems Niederngasse, Astropoetica, Ancient Paths, Caught In the Net, and Experimental Poetry.com. Other poems have been accepted for future publication in, The Quill and Ink, The Rose & the Thorn, Full Moon Magazine, Lullaby Hearse, Locust Magazine, Promise Magazine and The Carriage House Review. 

Errol Collen lives in Johannesburg in South Africa and has been working as a translator for a long time. A few years ago, he finally gave in to the urge to start putting his own ideas down on paper too, not only those of others, and hasn't stopped enjoying himself since. He won a finish-the-story competition in the South African magazine Citylife, did an online course in creative writing through Glenrothes College in Scotland and has had a short story published in The Short Story Review of Southern Africa.

Alexandra Fox lives in a village in England and began writing short stories in January 2004. She has won or been placed in the Momaya, Peninsular, JBWB, BBC, Cambrensis, Hastings, SIWC, Northern Echo/Orange, Blackberry Hills and LitPot competitions, and has publications in InkPot, QWF, Aesthetica and many ezines. Lexie writes with Alex Keegan's Bootcamp.

Benjamin Graber  (Bjm) lives in Omaha, Nebraska where at 60 he has reincarnated as a fiction writer. His short stories have been published in F2K-zine, Fine Lines Journal, Uber, Another Realms, Defenestration and Anti Muse. His poetry has been published in Fine Lines and an anthology of Nebraska poets, Annex 22. In a previous lifetime he was a psychiatrist and internationally recognized sex researcher and  co-author of Woman’s Orgasm celebrating it 30th year in print in 2005. For the last year and a half, he has been studying in Alex Keegan’s Boot Camp.

Doug Hoekstra's short fiction and non-fiction have appeared in a number of literary journals, and as a singer-songwriter, he has six well-received independent CD releases to his name.  He lives in Nashville with his wife, novelist Molly Hoekstra, and son Jude Aaron.  For more information, please refer to www.doughoekstra.com.
