Alan Phillips  has created over 300 book jacket covers, and he has illustrated a diverse selection of classic literature, including works by Robert Frost, Rudyard Kipling, Jack Kerouac, among many others. He is a much-sought after artist known for his ability to provide masterful illustrations that succinctly complement literature, and his use of resonant color harmonies accentuate the depth and dimension of his engaging portraits.  Phillips has illustrated several children’s books and his artwork has graced the pages of The New York Times, Boston Globe, National Geographic, Tennis, Golf Illustrated, Snow Country, Polo, Field & Stream, Reader’s Digest and dozens of other publications. Submissions are now being accepted for Canopic Jar No. 13, to be published online in the summer of 2004. Experimental and conventional pieces—poetry or short prose of any genre—are equally welcome, as are graphics that can be submitted via internet (photographs, drawings, etc.). Established authors and first-time submitters are encouraged to contribute to the Jar.

Send writing in generic text file, Word, or within an email message. We will respond to all submissions, but the response time may vary greatly (from same day to several weeks, depending on the current events of the editor).
