THREE POEMS

By Valerie Ford

EARTH

I lay
like earth
her legs stretched
far and wide
so men may travel
to reach it's boundaries

SWIM

A cesspool
no boats
I'm sinking
into brown eyes
Look around
on your ledge
pale skin sheds
Black silk
crumbles gray
beneath the rocks
of tears
A red man
jumps
An ice man
runs
dive into my stench
lick
your engulfed Athena
clean to grace.

WINE

You breathe
into my skin
swimming stagnant emotions
You taste
remembering I smell of roses
Fingertips glide across
Over the silky unknown
tickling their slumber
I breathe
closing worn lids
sipping the wine
of pleasure
